Compass Counselling

Helping you navigate your way

About me

Hi, my name is Becky and a warm welcome to Compass Counselling.

Are you at a crossroads in your life? Do you feel lost, confused or overwhelmed? Are you unsure of which path to take? Counselling can help you to find the things you’re looking for – whether that be peace, healing or direction. At Compass Counselling we can provide the time and space for you to examine and explore your situation. You will be empowered to tune in to your inner voice, listen to your own needs and build your inner strength to make purposeful changes to your life.

I began in counselling after a break from employment. During this time, I had the chance to reflect on what was important to me and where I wanted to go next. I felt I wanted to do something with my natural empathy and the pastoral skills I had gained through being a Primary School Teacher, and so counselling came into my life.

During my training I experienced for myself the transformative power of counselling. I gained a new understanding of myself and why I do the things I do. Now, I want to enable others to go on their own healing journey and find their way to the life they want to live.

I have worked with clients from a wide range of diverse backgrounds. I can support clients with issues such as anxiety, depression, finances, employment, health, and relationships. It can be helpful to share your thoughts and feelings with someone from outside of your friends and family, in a confidential space.

My experience of counselling in schools and with a local charity enables me to support young people from the age of 12 upwards. Young people face many challenges in today’s ever-changing world. A young person can feel overwhelmed by the pressures and demands they encounter at school, home and with friends. Combined with changes to their bodies and hormone levels, they can feel alone in experiencing these thoughts and feelings. Together we can explore how they feel in a supported and confidential setting.

I trained with outstanding independent providers. I obtained a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies from the Bedfordshire Centre for Therapeutic Studies, and a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Cariño Counselling, Letchworth.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and adhere to their ethical framework. I am DBS checked and hold a current Level 2 Safeguarding Certificate.

Life challenges

Modern life is hectic, loud and can be overwhelming. Compass Counselling can provide the time, space and quiet you need to reflect on the issues you’re facing in your life. You might be experiencing problems in relationships, work, money, health or education. Whatever it is, we’re here to support you.

Safe & confidential support

Compass Counselling offers you a safe and confidential space to share the thoughts and feelings you are going through. You may have noticed the same thing keeps happening to you again and again, or you feel stuck in your situation. Compass Counselling can be with you on your journey to understanding yourself.

Person-centred approach

Using the person-centred approach, I will listen to you with empathy and support you on your journey. I won’t give advice on what you should do and I won’t judge what you say. We can explore the choices you want to make together and empower you to make meaningful changes to your life.

Fees & availability

Each session is 50 minutes, once a week, and is charged at £50 per session. I offer a lower rate for trainee counsellors, which I am happy to discuss with you. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss your situation.

I offer a free 15-minute initial telephone call so you can find out more about how I work, what to expect, and to tell me about the issues you want to deal with. From there, we can see how I can support you and if this feels like the right fit for you.

I can take cash in-person, otherwise payment is via bank transfer on the day.

Cancellations need to be made at least 24 hours prior to the session, or payment will still need to be made.

Get in touch

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.

You can also call me on 07396929507 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries you may have.

All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
